Bio

Hello! I am Caleb Sim-Laramee, an aspiring animator currently enrolled at Drexel University as an Animation and Visual Effects major. I’ve loved creating things since I was a child, and enjoy working in a variety of mediums, from metalworking and drawing to 3d animation and game design. I made my own backyard forge when I was in middle school because I wanted to learn blacksmithing. I then went to the High School for Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia as a visual art major where I learned how to draw and create sculptures. I also started using Blender for 3d animation projects in high school, which led to me applying and being accepted into Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. Getting better at solidifying and executing creative visions is very important to me right now, as I tend to come up with more ideas than I can reasonably execute. I am currently attending college while also working on personal animation projects and a video game with some of my peers.

When I’m not working on something, I love to take naps with my cat or play video games. My favorite musical artists are the Ink Spots, an influential vocal group from the 1930s. Some of my favorite movies are Ratatouille, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Kung Fu Panda 1 and Howl’s Moving Castle. Some shows I’ve really enjoyed are Sonny Boy, Mob Psycho, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Tatami Galaxy. Some of my favorite video games are Dark Souls 1, Elden Ring, Resident Evil (Remake), Tetris, Heroes of Might and Magic III, EDF5 and Valheim.

I don’t do it often but I enjoy rock climbing too
